Tips of the Month

There is an army sleeping in your yard, and this Spring they will come to life - hungry.  You need a plan to control these common insects. Mike Thiede, our chemical technician, will control this army for you.

Aphids disfigure your rose blossoms, young trees and the leaves on shrubs. This damage cannot be undone; it has to be prevented.

Ants feed on dead and living insects, aphids and scale. They aren't being kind. They help aphids by moving them around to feed on your plants. Once they grow fat and juicy, the ants eat the aphids.

Whiteflies are tiny, sap-sucking insects that are found in vegetable and ornamental plants. They excrete sticky sap and will either kill the leaves of your plants or cause them to yellow.

Scales are tiny insects found on young stems and twigs of fruit trees. They secrete prolific amounts of sticky sap onto the stems and fruit that later develops a sooty mold that blackens leaves and fruit.
